MCA Micro-Needling

Multi-Trepannic Collagen Actuation (MCA) also known as Medical Dry-Needling or Medical Micro-Needling, is a non-surgical, natural way of effectively softening and relaxing scar tissue. This specialised needling technique is used to cause precise, controlled micro trauma to the damaged skin tissue in order to stimulate and encourage the natural healing process. This treatment triggers natural cell regeneration, as well as collagen and elastin production, enabling skin repair, skin rejuvenation and re-pigmentation.

MCA is an incredible treatment which has a hugely advantageous effect upon damaged skin tissue resulting from burns, skin grafts, accidental and surgical scaring, successfully relieving pain, improving aesthetic appearance and restoring skin confidence!

THE ADVANTAGES

  • Softens and relaxes scar tissue
  • Increases scar tissue flexibility
  • Reduces pain from tight scar tissue
  • Can induce re-pigmentation to hypo-pigmentation
  • Plump hypertrophic scars and wrinkles
  • Naturally improving skin tone and quality

MCA can be used in conjunction with either of the Meso digital skin needling treatments to intensely target unwanted lines and wrinkles.

Please note: Scars need to be fully healed and matured for at least 6 -12 months before they are able to receive MCA treatment.

TREATMENT SUITABILITY

Suitable for all skin types and ages, the MCA treatment is the ideal solution for those individuals who are seeking improvement for;

  • The appearance of scars
  • The texture of scars
  • Scar contracture
  • Scar mobility
  • Burn scars
  • Trauma scars
  • Surgical scars
  • Hypertrophic scars
  • Atrophic scars
  • Anti-ageing
  • Re-pigmentation

Consultation

Prior to treatments a comprehensive consultation will take place which includes the completion of a medical history assessment questionnaire, essential for determining treatment suitability, along with product patch testing. A thorough discussion of the client’s requirements and expectations will be established in order to determine the best treatment solution.

A thorough analysis of the intended MCA treatment area will take place followed by the digital dry needling procedure itself.

Treatment Plan

The treatment process will require multiple appointment sessions to reach the desired result. The number of sessions required is entirely dependent upon the scar size, nature and location of the area being treated, and upon the client’s circumstances and requirements.

The treated area must be allowed to heal for 6 – 8 weeks following treatment before subsequent treatments.

The first appointment will consist of the consultation and the treatment procedure. Following treatments will be a repeat of the treatment procedure. Please allow up to 2 hours for the initial MCA treatment appointment.

Treatment price will be provided at consultation and charged per treatment session

Please Note: If the client has recently received Botox injections or injectable fillers, it is recommended that a period of 21 days is allowed to elapse before receiving MCA as a skin rejuvenation treatment.

Following Treatment

Normal activities may be resumed immediately following the procedure. There will be slight tenderness, swelling and redness to the treated area which will generally subside within 72 hours.

The healing duration will take approximately 3 – 4 weeks, during which some fine crusting will occur which will naturally flake away during this healing period. It is crucial this crusting is not touched or removed prematurely whilst healing and that the additional aftercare guidelines are adhered to support sufficient healing and to avoid any post treatment complications.

Full aftercare instructions will be provided both verbally and in hard copy following the procedure.
